Vintage Minifigure Collection Vol.3

So, here Vintage Minifigure Collection Vol.3 which include us another spaceman. If I can recall we have spaceman in all three Vintage Minifigure Collection.

Looking at this set, people mostly will get it for the Black Falcon minifigure. Also I can see that the imperial army headgear is a new headgear, just that it do not have any printing on it like the present soldier we get from Pirates set and welcome back the long stop production western minifig.

LEGO Star Wars #7748 Tank Droid and #8038 The Battle of Endor

NavyTrooperFenson have uploaded more pictures on #7748 Tank Droid and #8038 The Battle of Endor at Brickshelf. To read the full review, you can drop by at Eurobricks. Below are some pictures of the sets:

First thing I would like to say is the Clone Trooper's jetpack are cool. I guess I have to get a couple of set to get the jetpack. Well about the tank droid, the inside have no space for battle droid, unless you MOD it and the plate are most probably printed.

For more images of #7748 Tank Droid, please visit:
NavyTrooperFenson's Brickshelf gallery

All I can say about this set is awesome. You get a newly design AT-ST which looks better than the two previous version, two speederbike, glider, catapult and a bunker. The bunker blow up mechanism are supported by technic suspension spring and you do get a lot of blasters.

New CITY set and Space Police at LEGO Online Store

Looks like I missed them in the previous post. Both of this theme also have some set released earlier than the expected date. Below are the link and image of CITY set:

#6299 Pirates Advent Calendar

Finally, LEGO has confirmed with the box art of this Pirates Advent Calendar and it seems like the number of minifigs we are getting is getting less, which are only minifig. Below are the box art:

It seems like we will be getting a monkey and a sawfish too. Not sure if we are getting any shark as the other image from Amazon.co.jp show us the new big shark picture instead of this sawfish.

It will be release on 25th of October with some discount.

LEGO Star Wars #8036 Separatist's Shuttle

If you guys are looking forward for some pictures of complete model of #8036 Separatist's Shuttle, just drop by at NavyTrooperFenson's Brickshelf gallery. Below are images I take from there:

Well, the shuttle will look blank without the stickers on and the there are not much space inside the shuttle, especially at the back. This set has cool new minifigs, especially Nute Gunray and his new headgear.

Creator #10199 Christmas Set

So this is the Creator #10199 Christmas Set. This set actually looks good but smaller than expected. I didn't expect this set to turn out cheap too and I suppose we should buy it. Below are the image:

From the picture we can see that there are seven minifigs. However the set itself was nicely design. I like the house very much and also the lamp post that are newly design. Also there is a jester head again.

The price from Amazon is 8820Yen after discount. Below is the link:

LEGO Castle 2009 in Toys"R"Us

All the 2009 Castle sets are available in Toys"R"Us for the United States. Not sure about other countries but you guys can probably check online. Below are some information and link to the site:

#7078 King's Battle Chariot
103 pieces
USD20.99
View it here
This set looks good and welcome back plume, at least now the king head is not on fire. Other than that, we get two troll shield which turn out to be pretty rare among the past castle set.

#7079 Drawbridge Defense
335 pieces
USD40.99
View it here
This set is impressive, with 335 bricks it can build something that. This is certainly a must have set for all of us. But why skeleton resurrect? I prefer trolls more, but anyway, this set give us new minifigs and also those who missed the advent calendar will have their chance to attain jester again.

#7097 Troll's Dark Fortress
844 pieces
USD99.99
View it here
Since human need a castle, skeleton have their tower, then troll should have their fortress. Now the battle in this fantasy era of castle will be more complete. But too bad, human do not have their warships. Anyway, this set is awesome and it includes us many minifigs. Two thumbs up!

Most of the new CITY set are made available at Toys"R"Us too and I suppose all the Power Miners set which are shown in New York Toy Fair are also made available at Toys"R"Us. To make your work easy, just visit Toys"R"Us website. Will save you a lot of time of hunting all your favorite sets.

LEGO Creator

This year we do have a few LEGO Creator set which turn out to be a good set, especially that Grand Carousel. But there are also medium size set that we might be interested of. They are:

#6751 Fiery Legend
Well, here's another dragon for you to collect. A red one instead. Dragon lover will be very happy with this set. Also includes light brick.

#6752 Fire Rescue
I guess kids will who dream of becoming fire fighter might love this set. I love the stairs though. Looks a little real.

#6753 Highway Transport
I guess this is the best of them all. You get 3 vehicles in one and the alternative build are cool too. Also it is already available at Tors'R'Us. The Creator fans who want to get this set, please visit here.

#6754 Family Home
I think this house looks good. I like they way the design it, especially the exterior and also this set will help you speed up your City build. But well, at least we need to MOD it, especially the interior.

#7749 Echo Base

Some place have most of the summer 2009 sets release early and somehow that includes LEGO Star Wars. But still we have to hunt for them as they are not release in every outlet. Anyway below are the minifigs of #7749 Echo Base:

All I can say is that, this set have cool minifigs, and also the cool new Taun-taun. But the pieces of this set is much fewer than expected. However, it will be useful for you to build your army and add some turret or so into you #7666 Hoth Rebel Base which seems to be so empty.

#8958 Granite Grinder Review

Here's another Power Miners review from me. Lets start off with the details.

Details:
Theme: Power Miners
Name : Granite Grinder
S/N : #8958
Year : 2009
Pieces : 94
Minifig : 2
Price : RM58.90, SGD21.90, USD9.99, GBP7.85

The front is an image that show us what's the sets are like and at the side there are exact scale of the rock monster. Other than that, it also show us both of the minifigs. While at the back of it, it shows us the functions of the set and the pictures of Aero Shredder, the combination of Thunder Driller and Granite Grinder. Below are the pictures of the box art:

Inside the box are, 3 pieces of loose bricks, that is two rubber wheel treads, and a container, 2 packs of bricks, a separately packed Glaciator, an instruction book and a sticker sheet. Also the rubber piece are pack differently now.

The instruction book include us building steps, bricks checklist, advertisement of other Power Miners set, Power Miners collection checklist and combination of all the Power Miners set. Image below is the content straight out from the box and also a closer veiw of the sticker sheet:

Like other small Power Miners set, this set include us two minifig. We got Glaciator the blue rock monster. As for the miners, they got both side torso printed and also their leg printed (I just notice that the logo printed on their torso are different which separate them from each other).

The miners have two face expressions like others.

Well here's the rock monster, which were placed differently in different set. They come fully assemble and they can open up their mouth wide enough and to place a crystal or dynamite inside their wide body. Well this time is blue color which is kind of dark. Also it can carries crystal with it's hands.

As for the Granite Grinder, there is nothing much to complain about. I like the way the design the gas cylinders, and the floodlight. Also they include us the rubber wheel tread which makes it looks a little different from other sets. It also features an opening cockpit other than working jackhammer while moving the vehicle.

The moving jackhammer seems to move too little and we hardly tell whether it extend or not. But anyhow, it do extend but not much.

Here's some leftover extra piece together with the shot of completion:

Playability: 6/10 Moving the vehicle itself will move the jackhammer.
Design : 8/10 The design is quite different from others.
Price : 8/10 The price per piece seems to be acceptable.
Overall: 8/10 Nice colour, good parts, good accessories, nice minifig.
