LEGO Lord of the Rings #9473 Mines of Moria Review

Here's a review posted about a week ago on Eurobricks. I just like reading the review, especially when there are such a good quality pictures in use. Image below is taken from Hinckley review on Eurobricks:

I think it  is a very good way to utilize the set with reviews, so that we can learn more from it. This looks awesome too, although it was separated to different parts of the mines. But is just nice for photo taking. Nice minifigs too.

1st Avenue Penang Brick Carnival

Yesterday, I went to 1st Avenue to see the Brick Carnival. There seems to be a few activity before this bur a few of them ended today. Anyway, I was there for the display only.

I can said this place was hidden and if you do not pay enough attention you might miss it. I thought I was too late and everything is gone, but hey, they were there when I walk further to the back. The display were at South Atrium, lower ground level. There were a few tables there for people to play with LEGO, and there are three display case there.

Next is the display of Super Heroes set, all of the the Super Heroes sets released to date were on display and it seems crowded inside. But is defnitely is something nice to see, especially those that you do not owned them. How I wished the set were nicely separated from each other so we can have a good view of them. The display will be there until 2nd September. Just in case you are interested, there are still time. But I would say there are nothing much to see.

Next are the two display that can win you Super Hero prizes. All you need to do is to count and count. Terms and conditions apply, as usual. I got no idea what the prize would be or what are we suppose to spot, seems confusing. No idea if further instructions were given to those that are participating. Count the flags they said, not sure about the two giant flags is included.

The last one was the shop hunt display, we need to list down 20 names of the shops or brand that you can find in the mini city display. No idea if this is limited to the the names of the shops and brand that appear in 1st Avenue only or otherwise. I think I saw Dr. Pepper in there.

These are all the coverage I have.  Go have a look if you happen to drop by there, you can forget it if you don't happen to go there. Purposely went there for the display is a waste of effort. But you can see a few of discontinued model in the city.

The amount of the minifigs are tempting and so do the new horse, although the horse is quite common. But, the new horse really have some playability in it. To read the review, please click on the link below the picture.

LEGO Friends #3185 Summer Riding Camp Review

Here's a review posted by Pandora on Eurobricks a week ago. This review must have took him quite some time, looking at the picture that the parts were arrange nicely before the assembling process. Below is a picture taken from Pandora's review:

This set looks interesting too, and I can see that there are many things scatter around. But it definitely one of the good set like Olivia House.

New LEGO Minifigs Pack

I must have missed some news on LEGO while I'm busy with my work. Here's a new minifig packs that comes with a few buildable parts and minifigs.

This is something new and there are repeated minifigs from the past minifigs series. I myself prefer the rock band which looks awesome. The new zombie outfit looks great too.

LEGO Story Animation

Finally, found myself sometimes to view this interesting animation released by LEGO during their 80th anniversary. This is one interesting animation about The LEGO Group history.

I suppose many LEGO fans has already view it, but for those that are have not, just give a shot although the connection here in Malaysia are very lousy.

LEGO Minifigures Series 8 Microsite Updated

I think Minifigures Series 8 will be release very soon as the site already been updated with the minifig bios. Is an interesting site that have all the information all the way from series 1.

Happy and disappointed at the same time as there are a number of recycle character in there and not much of a new character or accessories being introduce in this series.

Click HERE to view the bios of your favorite minifig.

LEGO DC Super Heroes #30164 Lex Luthor Review

Now this minifig would be consider rare for those LEGO collectors that are not into gaming. The Super Heroes theme seems to release too much of an exclusive minifigs,  especially the SDCC one. Is not strange that some people give up collecting this theme since there is no way to get the exclusive minifig for other collectors that are not in the state other than paying a large sum of money for them.

IMG_5072

Nice minifig, but is better to stop collecting this theme now before is too late. Most of the people just not able to have the complete minifigs for this theme which is sucks.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes #30163 Thor Review

I bought one of this too, the polybag set for Marvel Super Heroes. My personal opinion on this is that comparing to the price on Ebay and Bricklink, this set is a better choice rather than a single minifigs which most of them are sell separately with the hammer on Bricklink. Picture below is taken from Bricks Review:

IMG_5117

As far as I know the quality is still better compare to the magnet minifigs and it has the same prints with the one from the playset and the color do not different much, whether is lighter or darker print.

LEGO Ninjago #9441 Kai's Blade Cycle Review

I remembered I read somewhere that Ninjago is one of the most well-received theme this year, and it seems possible with the release of the all cool and awesome vehicle. Bricks Review yesterday posted a review on  #9441 Kai's Blade Cycle and below picture is taken from the Flickr:

IMG_4982

Is cool to be able to get Kai ZX in such a set, and the cycle looks nice too. Rattla minifigs seems to have a new headgear that was specially made for this theme for now. Also heard that next year the ninja will meet the pirate. Not sure how reliable is the source.

LEGO Lord of the Rings Game Exclusive Minifigs

Got this news from Brickset that LEGO Lord of the Rings game will comes with an exclusive minifigs again. All the upcoming games will have one exclusive minifig as their marketing strategy I think.

Above picture is Elrond minifig that are to come with the game and there seems to be a new weapon. I'm skipping the game anyway, have to source this later and there are sure to be sold separately by third party just that we don't know d price.

LEGO City #4473 Police Helicopter Picture

The first news that came on the first day of August, is the picture of LEGO City #4473 Police Helicopter. Image below is taken via Brickset:

Should be bigger than the previous version and we hardcore collectors will have a lot different version of police helicopter. The uniform changed too.
