Bangsar Village II Malaysia LEGO Sales and Exhibition

LEGO sales and exhibition started yesterday at BV II. Yes, and it looks like is TRU that is running the sales looking at the pictures someone posted on Facebook. Not sure if you are going to get the Christmas bonus voucher though. Anyway, below are the images I have taken from Lowyat.

Sorry guys, I'm nowhere near there, so this is best thing I think people are looking forward for, the price list of the sets on sales. As usual, hot items are all done in day one, maybe not even half day. Again, please be advise to watch your spending, anything 50% is a real temptation.

Good luck hunting.

1st Avenue Penang Brick Carnival

Yesterday, I went to 1st Avenue to see the Brick Carnival. There seems to be a few activity before this bur a few of them ended today. Anyway, I was there for the display only.

I can said this place was hidden and if you do not pay enough attention you might miss it. I thought I was too late and everything is gone, but hey, they were there when I walk further to the back. The display were at South Atrium, lower ground level. There were a few tables there for people to play with LEGO, and there are three display case there.

Next is the display of Super Heroes set, all of the the Super Heroes sets released to date were on display and it seems crowded inside. But is defnitely is something nice to see, especially those that you do not owned them. How I wished the set were nicely separated from each other so we can have a good view of them. The display will be there until 2nd September. Just in case you are interested, there are still time. But I would say there are nothing much to see.

Next are the two display that can win you Super Hero prizes. All you need to do is to count and count. Terms and conditions apply, as usual. I got no idea what the prize would be or what are we suppose to spot, seems confusing. No idea if further instructions were given to those that are participating. Count the flags they said, not sure about the two giant flags is included.

The last one was the shop hunt display, we need to list down 20 names of the shops or brand that you can find in the mini city display. No idea if this is limited to the the names of the shops and brand that appear in 1st Avenue only or otherwise. I think I saw Dr. Pepper in there.

These are all the coverage I have.  Go have a look if you happen to drop by there, you can forget it if you don't happen to go there. Purposely went there for the display is a waste of effort. But you can see a few of discontinued model in the city.

So this is the on going events that kicks off today at Empire Shopping Gallery. Those that help build the Fire Truck will get a certificate. I'm sure is a big fire truck.

Other than that, there are some set that is on sales which is 40% off normal retail price. However, those stocks  are the same with the one during the clearance sales. Guess there are some leftovers during the past clearance sales and they put it on sales again during this event.

On the other hand, there are already some news on upcoming events during Christmas at Bangsar Village. I heard will be another exhibition.

The Malaysia 2010 LEGO Collectors' Exhibition has kick off today. However, I was told not all of the set are manage to put up. But afraid not, they will put it up later. There are around 50 sets have not yet been put up, plus MOCs, vignettes and cube dudes.

But anyway, here's a piece of good news, which is there are exclusive sets for sale over there with 15% normal retail price. They are Emerald Night, Imperial Flagship, Fire Brigade, and Winter Toy Shop. So there are total of four exclusive sets there for you to purchase at a special discount rate.

Quick Update on Malaysia 2010 LEGO Collectors' Exhibition

Here's a quick update on the Malaysia 2010 LEGO Collectors' Exhibition and is more like a shopping news for Toy Story fans during the event.

For Toy Story lover and collector, you will be eligible to purchase a Toy Story magnet and a Toy Story keychain, or two Toy Story magnets, or two Toy Story keychain with any amount of LEGO Toy Story purchased. Yes, no minimum purchase is needed to get these keychains and/or magnet as long as it is LEGO Toy Story that you purchased.

The magnet set will cost RM69.90 each which include three minifigs in it (from what I see from other's review, it is said that the quality has improved) while the the keychain cost RM19.90 each (the price is quite good if we compare with neighboring country after added implicit cost) and you have three choices to choose from (see pic below) too bad there is no Jessie.

Each of them are (again) said to be very very limited in quantity, and I suppose only early bird have the opportunity to own them. They are exclusive item anyway.

So again, this news is more for Toy Story fans and their shopping tips. ^^

Malaysia 2010 LEGO Collectors' Exhibition Update

For fellow LEGO fans of Malaysia, here's an update about the Malaysia 2010 LEGO Collectors' Exhibition event that I mention not long ago.

I made a mistake in my previous post though, I was told today there will be approximately 200 sets or more will be on display in the event. They will have:

-Every single set from Prince of Persia.

-Some Toy Story playset.

-Every single playset from Castle Fantasy Era including the chess set.

-For Star Wars, you can see most of the UCS and old Technic set while the playset is quite limited in number.

-Architecture theme will be on display too which all of the six set will be there.

-As mention before, there will be modular house on display too except for Grand Emporium which is not yet release here.

I think is best you visit this link to look at the set which will be put on display.

ToysRUs will sell some set in the event but there is no single words about discount, maybe you guys would like to check it there by yourself.

Also there will be a place selling #8683 Collectable Minifigure too which I was told the supply is pretty much limited. Once you missed the chance, it will be very hard for you to get here. It will be sold at RM9.90 per minifig pack (not per box), so if you about to try your luck and get all 16 of them, remember to bring a lot of money there.

Remember, One Utama Shopping Complex (New Wing), Kuala Lumpur on 1st June until 7th June 2010. Be sure to make it there for the event.

Malaysia 2010 LEGO Collectors' Exhibition

For the LEGO fans of Malaysia, there will be a LEGO Collectors' Exhibition coming soon, and I mean real soon. Bricksmal in collaboration with ToysRUs have held the event.

The event will be held at One Utama Shopping Complex (New Wing), Kuala Lumpur on 1st June until 7th June 2010.

For now I do not have much info about the event yet, but there will approximately more than 100 LEGO sets will be on display. Also, exclusive LEGO modular house like Green Grocer, largest Star Wars set like UCS Millenium Falcon, Death Star and Death Star II just to name a few, will be on display during the event.

So you might be wondering which theme will be there and what's not, below are the theme that will be on display:
1. Star Wars
2. Toy Story
3. Prince of Persia
2. Exclusive sets
3. City (new and vintage)
4. Castle (new and vintage, army)
5. Exo-Force
6. Space theme
7. Technic

So for the fans of above theme make sure you be there and that's not all, there are also vignettes, cube dudes and MOC (My Own Creation) too. We get too how creative we are in MOC. =P There is a minifigure army on display too.

I guess is a good idea to bring your child to a place like this during this school holiday season, where they can actually enjoy seeing those toys and a pieces of good news to the parents is that no fee are needed, yes it is FREE.

Guess unlucky dude like me have to wait for other time when I have more fund to support me for travelling. T.T

Remember to keep on checking back here for more updates.
