LEGO DC Super Heroes Jor-El Review

There are a lot of Super Heroes fans out there too just like fans for Star Wars. To those that happens to be the fans for both, you seems to have a lot of polybag to collect. Below is a picture of Jor-El minifigs taken from Bricks Review's review:

SH_0148

I'm attracted to the plastic as long as they are in the shape of a figure and very unfortunate for me I collect anything that I think is nice which indirectly makes me the fans of both Super Heroes and Star Wars theme. I just cannot resist the temptation of the minifigs. If you have Superman minifigs, I mean Man of Steel, I think you will definitely want a piece of this since you can reunite both the father and his son.

LEGO Star Wars Han Solo (Hoth) Review

Here's another review on the LEGO Exclusive minifigs this year that was given away as freebies during May the 4th. Below is the picture taken from Bricks Review:

SW_0116

I actually prefer to get Clone Lieutenant if possible rather than Han Solo which is like a cursed for LEGO Star Wars minifigs collector. To those that can get them for free is really to complain about but to those that love to collect exclusive minifigs you might just hate this one but still you have to buy it.

LEGO Star Wars #9493 X-wing Starfighter Review

This is not a review on the latest LEGO Star Wars playset, but instead a review on the playset that was release a year ago, the iconic LEGO Star Wars X-wing Starfighter. Below is a picture taken from Bricks Review:

SW_0107

Personally I think it was fun to have fresh new character from LEGO Star Wars universe or even an updated version of the old minifigs but updating them too frequently is also a problem. Anyway, this new X-wing are in fact better in design but I hate the way how the wings open and close which might be painful if you accidentally snapped your finger. Also, the new minifigs really is costing them some money and they cut off two minifigs for the current X-wing.

LEGO TMNT #30270 Polybag

Here's something new today, which is the polybag from LEGO TMNT theme. First appear on Ebay if I'm not mistaken and the polybag comes with Kraang in cyborg outfit minifigs which can only be attained in one of the large set from TMNT theme. Below picture are taken via FBTB:

#30270

Might be the cheapest way to owned this Kraang minifigs since it only appears in the Shellraiser set. Definitely good news to those that are able to purchase it at an affordable range, but definitely not here in local market, which is very sad for us.

LEGO Legends of Chima #70107 Skunk Attack Review

LEGO Legends of Chima seems to have a great minifigs, especially the Crocs faction. In this second wave, they are introducing the Gorrila faction and skunk that are only available in Speedorz set. Now after reading the review from Brickset, it kinds of turns me off from getting the set. Below picture is taken from Brickset:

70107 Skunk Attack

By adding a couple of more parts, the price rocketed to 70MYR per set, but is sad to see that the price of last wave Ninjago spinner price rocketed as well in the local market, which makes it totally not worth buying. Perhaps you might want to read this review and decides whether to get a set of #70107 Skunk Attack or not.

LEGO CUUSOO Back to the Future

And I thought that CUUSOO will are not going to release this Back to the Future car when they announced Mars Curiosity Rover as the next CUUSOO set coming this falls. Picture below are taken from FBTB.net:

Little details are given and it is said to be able to purchase starting from 18th July. No sign of minifigs as well.  Let's see when it is officially release, although the driver seat and passenger seat seems to be very small.

LEGO DC Super Heroes #30166 Robin and Redbird Cycle

Looking at the picture from Brickset, it is said to spend some amount on Super Heroes playset and get #30166 Robin and Redbird Cycle for free in Canada. Is not bad to get freebies if you spend a certain amount on LEGO purchase as for here, everything need to be bought with money:

#30166 Robin and Redbird Cycle

Definitely not a new news to share but this might be the cheapest way to owned a Robin minifigs depending on the price that are offered by those seller on Bricklink or Ebay. Will get one if the price are reasonable. Ugly cycle but interesting minifigs.

LEGO Star Wars #75021 Republic Gunship Review

Here's a chance for those that missed out the previous release of Republic Gunship that was released back in year 2008 without the need to pay a premium on it. Below image is taken from Brickset:

Review: 75021 Republic Gunship

For those that have not gotten any gunship, is not too late, and this gunship looks good, just that it is from Episode II instead of Clone Wars. The set comes with new characters except the old boring Super Battle Droid. I still prefer Clone Wars version over this but I might get this new one as well.

LEGO Star Wars #75017 Duel on Geonosis Review

This new LEGO Star Wars is really something, is all about the parts scattering around to build some scene for Yoda to fight with Dooku. The all new minifigs was included in this set, I bet the predicted cannot sell well without the new minifigs. Picture below is taken from Brickset:

75017 Duel on Geonosis

The playset is definitely suitable for kids, while the minifigs is something very suitable for the AFOL. I think the reason I am going to get the set are for the minifigs, and not the parts. It might be a waste to purchase all the minifigs separately since I think these minifigs are not cheap.

LEGO Star Wars #75015 Corporate Alliance Tank Droid Review

Other than MTT and AT-AT this is one of the tank like droid that I like. I have not really owned this set yet but the main attraction in this set is pretty much the Jango Fett minifigs which have not make appearance in LEGO playset for 11 years. Image below are taken from Brickset review:

75015 Corporate Alliance Tank Droid

According to the review the new tank droid is bigger compare to the one of Clone Wars version. If you are building droid army, you might want to snap a couple of this set and you will have a lot of Jango Fett. But hey, this is a good set to get the wheel tread.

LEGO Lord of the Rings #10237 The Tower of Orthanc Review

Here's the review of the tallest LEGO LOTR structure for the time being from Rufus in Eurobricks. Below is a picture taken from his review:

This tall set have a lot of interior hidden behind the structure, and I guess there is where all the playability are. The tower is impressive, however, displaying this set is really a challenge, where and how to keep it dust free especially. I believe all of the LOTR fans are getting a copy of this while for the local, it pretty much depends on the budget to afford a set like this.

LEGO #40057 Fall Scene

Now that we have summer scene (IMO it was the most expensive) and spring scene (which was the most worth it at the moment), next one coming are pretty much Fall Scene. Below is the picture taken from Brickset:

Comes with three minifigs, and a lot of small tooth like pieces in various colour that symbolize the fall scene. I skip summer scene since it is not that worth getting while the springtime scene was the most favorable set at the time being.

LEGO Creator #40078 Hot Dog Stand

Not something new to tell about but this upcoming polybag, maybe already released in some places, just attracts me. The hot dog stand do seems bigger and this time it comes with two minifigs and a bicycle. Way better than the impulse set, but the price are way "better" too. Image below is taken from Brickset:

I think this polybag can be easily blend with you City or even Palace Cinema with some guy selling hot dog outside the cinema.

LEGO City #60020 Cargo Truck Review

I am definitely not a LEGO City fans, not because of the design or playability are bad, but instead are the design of the vehicle that are getting better each year and most dangerously, any single theme can be blend into it with your imagination. Below is a picture of the cargo truck taken from Brickset review:

60020 Cargo Truck

I have a feeling that the size of the cargo truck shrink. But the design are still great and the playability are still there. The design of the forklift looks nice as well, and is definitely to like about from this playset. I do love some of the playset from City theme, but due to the fact that so many theme and so many nice playset comes out all at once, there are just not enough resource to cope up with this crazy collection. Sometimes I do envy on the people that can focus on one theme.

LEGO Architecture #21015 The Leaning Tower of Pisa Review

Here's a review for the latest LEGO Architecture playset, The Leaning Tower of Pisa. Architecture theme are not that bad actually, as it is more to a mini model and you can save lots of space. Below picture are taken from Rufus's review in Eurobricks:

I suppose everyone are curios on how to build this leaning tower side way, even me are curious about it. To know the secret you can either download the instruction or read the review. That pretty much shows you the trick on how to make it lean towards the other side.

LEGO Friends Series 3 Animal Collectibles

LEGO Friends Animal Collectibles is attractive, especially they falls under affordable range and some of them do comes with nice parts. For those that collect them, here's the images from Grogall's Brickshelf gallery:

Guess the parts are not so great lately. But for those animal lover, any series seems worth collecting since you can have a various kinds of animal living in the Friends world that you have created.

LEGO Galaxy Squad #70708 Hive Crawler Review

Hive Crawler sure do have it's own attraction and is one of the bug alien vehicle, which I think most of them look ugly except for Star Slicer and maybe this Hive Crawler. Picture below is taken from Brickset review:

70708 Hive Crawler

The crawling leg gimmick is really something that attracts some of the non Galaxy Squad collector. Maybe due to their curiosity on the technical side on how it moves. Comes with the Crawler are the new egg piece, new bug and new bug alien. I feel that the new minifigs are just a way of marketing to get people to buy the set. Anyway, the wheel is the only thing that I do not like, other than that I feel that this is a good set.

LEGO Galaxy Squad #70707 CLS-89 Eradicator Mech Review

I feel that this new space theme is better than the previous space theme, with all the cool new vehicle that are coming. Although convertible mech is not something that are new, but it does not looks bad at all. Below picture is taken from Brickset review:

70707 CLS-89 Eradicator Mech

It is hard to resist for me to post update on review especially with all the nicely taken photo that will tempt everyone from getting a set of it. This set does comes with new parts as well, also happen to be a cheaper option to get that orange mech. For completest, all of the set is a must have I believe. The brick built bug is very good looking as well, how can I resist this.

LEGO Galaxy Squad #70706 Crater Creeper Review

Here's more like a repeat of what I have posted before, but reading a few sources of review might be better before decides to grab a LEGO set. This review is make by Brickset and below picture are taken from the review:

70706 Crater Creeper

I personally do not own this set yet, but the small hover craft are neatly design. Although is small but some how the design managed to attract me compare to the bug crawler. It comes with normal Buggoid and I believe Galaxy Squad collector will have a lot of them, but luckily the Buggoid does not look bad at all.

LEGO Star Wars #9492 TIE Fighter Review

Have to pick up from where I have left due to the crazy workload from my job. Here's a very old update on a review of last year LEGO Star Wars playset, #9492 TIE Fighter. Picture below is taken from Bricks Review Flickr gallery:

SW_0075

The TIE Fighter definitely have some improvement compare to the previous version that was release long long time ago, especially on the wings part which is SNOT. I do not owned any of the old TIE Fighter but it definitely makes me feel that the this fighter is a little bigger. Other than the the grey and and black colour do make them look better and blend in well with the color of the Empire. The figs is something to go after during that year, but now they do have better TIE Fighter minifigs which I'm looking forward for.

No doubt that there is a lot of minifigs in this set, the price tag there is quite high too. Worth it? The frequent question that is commonly asked by collectors over here when they are undecided. That pretty much depends on how badly you wanted this set.
